The Programme
The International Recruitment programe for Nurses and Carers is run on the back of the launch of the UK Health and Care Visa programme. The programme is designed to provide assistance to nurses and health care assistants aiming to relocate to the UK to continue practicing in their fields. To register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and work in the UK, all international nurses must pass their CBT and the OSCE besides the requirement for English proficiency. Onas Consult offers assistance and guidance to applicants regarding their applications, exams requirement, interview and visa processing after an employment with a UK based Trust (hospital, Care homes etc).
As well, persons who aint nurses but are interested in applying to work in the UK health sector as carers will also be assisted to take an exams / training to obtain the required certificate in aiding the process to secure employment opportunities with a UK based institutions. The exams will be conducted online and results obtained. Practical trainings and shadowing will further be provided to ensure efficiency of carers.
The Process
Upon picking of application form and its completion, applicants will be assisted with the processes involved from preparation to write the IELTS exams to the NMC registration to the final stage of moving to the UK. The IELTS Life Skills B1 test is for persons who need to prove their English speaking and listening skills as part of their application to UK Visas and Immigration for indefinite leave to remain or citizenship.The IELTS Life Skills B1 is at the cost of GHc1242 (subject to change by authorized institution).

The exams required...
Health Carers
Nurses
There will be two exams written by the carers; first is the IELTS to ascertain if the applicant can speak and write english. The IELTS has a centre in Ghana(kindly click on the name to access the link).
The second exams will be the Mandatory Healthcare Certificate exams which will be run by an authorized institution in UK but written in Ghana via online.
You can write the mandatory exams from the comfort of your home.
Nurses will have to write three exams in all. The first being the IELTS to ascertain if the applicant can speak and write english(kindly click on the name to access the link).
IELTS score should be 7 in all categories except WRITING which should be at least 6.5
The second exams will be the computer base test (CBT) to enroll with the NMC in UK(kindly click on the name to access the link)
The CBT will qualify an applicant to have interview with a UK based health institution for possible job offering. The last exams OSCE will be written in the UK when the applicant finally gets the offer and arrives in the UK.
Qualification to begin with: RGN qualification with an active NMC PIN or working towards it.

Health and Care Worker Visa, UK
This visa is for medical professionals (qualified Doctors, Nurses, Health professionals, or adult social carers) to come to the UK or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with the NHS, an NHS supplier or in adult social care.
An appplicant must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. This can however be done by passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) or the IELTS exams. As well, having a degree level academic qualification that was taught in English could also suffice.
Applicants can get visa for up to 5 years before the need to extend it. After 5 years, you can apply to settle permanently in the UK also known as indefinite leave to remain. This gives you the right to live, work and study in the UK as long you like, and apply for benefits if one is eligible.
